| Abstract | The general aim of the project was to further develop the application potential of the SAR data acquired by ERS satellites. The two application fields have been selected as having higher user demands inside the country: SAR interferometry and crop discrimination. The project had strong research part focused on evaluation of various SAR processing methods for proposed applications. The development of an effective procedure to generate interferometric DEM is the main goal of the first part of the project. Combination of descending and ascending pairs and influence of different length of baseline was the subject of the evaluation. Detailed analysis of quality of resultant DEM and comparison of processing times for the procedures with and without external DEM was be made. The main focus of the agricultural part was to evaluate and possibly develop an operational procedure for crop identification and crop area estimation. The multitemporal set of 15 SAR PRI scenes from two vegetation seasons was available through this project. The test area selected represented the region located in the central and eastern Bohemia with intensive agricultural activity. |
