There has been developed an application for mapping sugar beet acreage. It is based on multispectral high resolution remote sensing images that are acquired in time window defined according to the crop growth development. Often only one image is enough to acquire for the interpretation of the sugar beet. An important aspect of satellite scanner selection is that spectral resolution includes near and middle infrared spectra.
