Abstract

Every year wildlife cause damages on agricultural areas. These damages are hardly to calculate because the information about acreage is not usually available. Damaged acreage can be monitoring using very high resolution satellite images. For the study purpose we used pan-sharpened data from Quickbird and Ikonos satellites with spatial resolution 0.6-1m. Areas around cities Karlovy Vary and Kolin were selected because damages on yield causes by wildlife are there occurred every year. Optimal time for data acquisition is the end of August and September. Damaged areas are very good identifiable on full-grown corn fields. With using of GIS function damaged areas can be calculated more accurately. It is important for agriculture and wildlife management.
