The unified interpretation method has been applied to produce thematic land cover database of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic at the scale 1:100000 according to CORINE Land Cover specifications. Database has been produced by visual interpretation of the geocoded satellite images (Landsat TM). Digitalisation of the manual drawings has resulted in the GIS vector database, and consequently in the production of the land cover thematic maps of both countries.
