GISAT was contracted as a leader of the consortium to orthorectify more than 100 Landsat 7 ETM+ scenes in the frame of CORINE Land Cover Image2000 project. Local partners in 10 accession countries (Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) have participated in the project having the responsibility for ground control point selection using national topographic maps. GISAT has coordinated this activity and performed the orthocorrection afterwards. Landsat scenes were orthorectified into respective national map projection system. Resulting images have been used for a land cover interpretation in frame of the CLC2000 update project. The work has been successfully completed in 6 months and the products were delivered to the CLC2000 national teams.
