Aim of this MERA project was development of methodology for satellite imagery (Landsat TM) classification for forest ecosystem mapping. Additional information has been combined with result of classification. Both production and ecological indicators have been used for forest ecosystem description. Whole methodology has been tested on two forest ecosystem sites in the scale 1:100 000.
