The project done in the frame of KONTAKT program was focused on the practical evaluation of use of satellite radar data for DEM generation and on the assessment how multitemporal ERS data can contribute to the discrimination of agricultural crops. The interferometric approach was tested using the couple of ERS1/2 scenes on a test site and the radargrammetric approach based on RADARSAT stereopair on another test site. In the second part of the project the use of time serie of ERS scenes for crop identification was evaluated.
