Satellite Orthophotos

Digital satellite orthophoto is a product with high level of positional accuracy. It can be used in different areas:

• separate image layer in GIS database
• satellite map as an alternative for topomap
• input for further thematic interpretation
• time serie of orthophotos assess landscape changes and development
• base for ad-hoc landscape mapping

Satellite orthophotomap is usually delivered in digital form, but specific customer requirements are accepted (e.g. printed cartographic output).

According to the spatial resolution of the satellite data we offer orthophotomaps covering complete scale range up to 1:5000.

When orthophotomaps for abroad countries are to be produced close cooperation with the client is essential, especially during acquisition of ground truth data (maps, orthophotos, ...) needed for ground control points selection and suitable DEM.

Due to longtime experiences in worldwide satellite data processing Gisat can also offer a solution based on our archive data and other available resources (in case of VHR satellite data this is usually less accurate alternative to standard orthorectification).
